Moved!

This blog was first started by my roommate, M, and I. We wanted to share our love of food and my obsession with clothes and shoes with others who shared the same passions. Sadly, we’ve come to realize that M was too busy to post regularly, and it quickly became clear that the blog was becoming mine.

After a few weeks of being a newbie blogger, I’ve got to say, it’s been really fun. My boyfriend and I have been having such a great time finding spots in the city to shoot outfit posts and it’s really given us a fun excuse to go out and explore and take in San Francisco. Helping me with the photography started out as a favor to me, but he says he really looks forward to them now! Who knew something so simple as starting a blog could lead to such new discoveries! Happy Friday!

Ever since Anh from 9to5chic instagrammed pictures of this blazer, I ‘ve been lusting over it. I NEED this blazer. It would fit in so nicely in my closet. However, the $665 price tag would not.  Yesterday’s one day only, 30% off sale at Neiman Marcus brought the price down to $450 and, believe me, I was seriously tempted. 

I decided to be financial responsible and save the money for another day (who am I kidding, I’ll probably end up buying more shoes in a couple weeks). Instead I found a very similar blazer, minus the feathers on ebay, and I plan on taking it to my tailor and having her stitch me up a much more affordable version. I’ll let you know how it goes!

It feels like summer’s already here in San Francisco. This past weekend has been nothing but blue skies and a touch of heat, and it looks like the heat is hanging around for a bit. Which means I’ll be throwing on my keep cool basics for a while; white pants and a bright shirt.

I got the job!

Much thanks to all of you who were crossing your fingers for me and wishing me luck! Your support means so much to me! I’ll be working back in San Francisco, which means no more long commute and more change in my pocket.

Sunday Neutrals

These past few days have been deliciously gluttonous. My wonderful boyfriend, Cole (who took these amazing photos, btw), landed an art directing internship at Butler Shine Stern & Partners in Sausalito! So, to kick off the weekend, I made caramels using this recipe. I’ve got to say, they were worth the extra effort. The flavors were richer than store bought and I intend on making them again.

To continue the celebration, we made reservations for brunch at Magic Flute Risorante. We’d been there for dinner before but didn’t think it was very special. But since they were voted the #1 Best place for brunch in San Francisco, we were curious to see if they lived up to the hype. They did. If you’re in the San Francisco area I highly suggest you take a break and go have some brunch.

We stopped by a park on the way home and snapped up a few pictures of an absolutely gorgeous day.

Brights and polka dots

I love adding a bit of pop to my outfits with either a touch of brights or a fun print. Being a graphic designer, I can swap less conventional office attire for more fun, yet put together looks. I recently picked up these spotted jcrew pants and am considering wearing them to a 2nd (yay!) job interview. I usually incorporate colors and prints into my regular office wardrobe, but I’m a bit on the fence about wearing bold printed pants to an interview (though they did compliment my red-orange pants during my first interview).

Thoughts? Should bright colors and bold prints play a part in trying to land a new design job? Here are some other looks I love. Enjoy!
